Local bank renamed
CELINA-A new sign recently appeared here in downtown Celina signifying a new era for a longtime local business.
Six community banks serving Middle Tennessee, including Bank of Celina, have officially rebranded as Wellworth Bank.
According to bank officials, the move creates a larger and stronger banking network while maintaining a local focus and commitment to personalized service.
“It’s the best of both worlds in banking,” said Wes Burnett, Regional President. “Our customers receive the same personal care they’ve always had from their local bank, but now they have the convenience of a wider branch network with more services, more choices, and more support.”
The bank explained the change marks the next step in a unifying brand evolution for the Citizens Bank family, bringing together six community banks under one name that reflects a shared purpose: caring for customers, communities, and one another.
Besides Bank of Celina, the other banks in the rebrand are Citizens Bank of Lafayette, Liberty State Bank, Smith County Bank, Traders Bank, and American Bank & Trust.
“In bringing together our six banks, we’re able to dedicate more resources and more care to the people and local businesses of our communities,” said Pete Williston, CEO. “We’ve increased our capacity to better serve our customers.”
While the Wellworth Bank name is new, bank officials said everything customers value most will remain the same, from the familiar faces they know and trust to the local decision-making and personalized service they rely on every day.
“Our bank is deeply entrenched in the community,” said Rich Greslick, CEO Designate. “Our bankers have built lasting relationships with our customers, and that’s not going to change. We’re still the same bank we’ve always been. The unification allows us to do even more for our customers.”
Customers will continue to use their current checks, debit cards, and account information as usual. All locations, phone numbers, and online banking tools will remain the same. Over time, signage, materials, and digital channels will transition to the new Wellworth Bank name and look.
Wellworth Bank is a community bank built on care in common—care for people, businesses, and communities. With 20 branches in 12 counties across Middle Tennessee, Wellworth Bank provides a full suite of personal and business banking products, pairing modern technology with personal service.
The bank was founded in 1909, in Lafayette, Tennessee and was originally named Citizens Bank of Lafayette. Today, it’s the 14th largest bank headquartered in Tennessee.
