RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral Services for Mareda Bailey Thomas of Red Boiling Springs were conducted Friday afternoon, February 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Willette Church of Christ with E.C. Meadows and Rob Whitacre officiating.  Interment followed in the Thomas Cemetery.  Her pallbearers were Scott Thomas, Del Powers, Travis Anderson, Dan Birdwell, Keith Page, Ricky McClure, Doug Bailey, Billy Bailey, Roy Minchey and Garry Kirby.

Mareda Bailey Thomas, age 79 passed away Tuesday morning, February 15, 2011 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN.

Mareda was born Monday, March 30, 1931 in Jackson County, TN, one of five siblings born to the late Robert L. and Hilda Gaines Bailey.  On January 17, 1948, she married Oral Clay, better known as “Bully” Thomas, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1998 after sharing 50 years of marriage together.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Zelma Minchey, Jannas Sloan, Judy McClure Moore and brother, Frank Bailey.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Willette Church of Christ.

Survivors include: daughters & sons-in-law, Sandra & Tommy Anderson, Fonda & Mike Fleming all of  the Willette Community, son & daughter-in-law, Bobby & Brenda Thomas, Lafayette, granddaughters & their husbands, Veronica & Keith Page, Willette Community, Alyshia & Del Powers, Winchester, Maranda Fleming, Willette Community, grandsons & their wives, Scott & Tina Thomas, McMinnville, Travis & Rebecca Anderson, Red Boiling Springs, great-grandchildren, Abby Thompson, Bailey Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, step-great-grandchildren, Josh Graham, Jaqline Graham and Travis Page.
