Merchants’ group plans Downtown Country Christmas, with drawing for “Celina Bucks”
CELINA-The rekindled Merchants’ Association here is planning a “Downtown Country Christmas,” and, along with it, a return to the old merchants’ drawing.
The holiday drawing is scheduled for Saturday, December 19 at noon at the courthouse square, with “Celina Bucks” and other items to be given away.
Shoppers get tickets for the drawing by shopping with participating merchants between now and the drawing date. Merchants need to turn their tickets in at Country Corner on December 19 no later than 11:30 a.m.
Drawings will be held that day for four “Celina Bucks” amounts, and for gift certificates, baskets and other items. The Celina Bucks can be spent just like cash at any participating merchant.
The Celina Bucks giveaway amounts will be: one for $200, one for $100, and two for $50. You must be present to win.

There will be another Merchants’ Association meeting Monday, December 14 at the chamber of commerce, beginning at 5 p.m. All merchants are urged to attend.
Several merchants will be staying open late the week before Christmas, and there will be various activities in the downtown area associated with that.
