Miller goes 13-2, pickers only two games apart
There is a real logjam in the HORIZON Peerless Pigskin Prognosticators race after three weeks, with all seven pickers within two games of each other.
There is a three-way tie for the lead, as defending champ Michael Miller used a fine 13-2 week to scratch out a tie with Brian Burchett and Gary Strong.
There is a three-way tie for second only a game back of the leaders, too. Brent Burchett, Mark Strong and Thomas Watson are tied for that spot, and Teia Adams is only a game back of them.
If the race stays this tight all the way through, there will be three sad pickers who will fall just outside the four-person playoffs.
Aside from Miller’s big week, the brothers Burchett racked up impressive 12-3 records, too. Gary Strong was 11-4, while Watson and Adams went 10-5. Last week’s solo leader, Mark Strong, went 9-6.
Picks of the week went to Miller for his choice of South Carolina over Ole Miss and to Gary Strong for his pick of Jacksonville over Houston.
Reflecting the overall closeness of the race, the records between the two families involved this year is just as close. After three weeks, the Strong-Watson family has a 91-44 mark, while the Burchett-Adams family is a game back at 90-45.
