CELINA-The Clay County Extension Office recently announced Wyatt Montooth as the newest addition to their staff.
Montooth became the county’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent earlier this summer and has settled into his new role well, according to fellow extension agent and county director Haley Barnes.
“We are excited to have Wyatt on board,” the seven-year veteran agent and local office leader said. “Not only to help sustain the program as it is, but also to help see agriculture programming into the future here in Clay County as well.”
A native of Overton County, Montoooth holds a degree in Animal Science from Tennessee Tech and was raised on a beef cattle farm.
He has experience working with a variety of livestock, including cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and swine.
Montooth is also an avid outdoorsman and said he is excited for the opportunity to support agriculture within Clay County.
Besides Barnes, Montooth will also work alongside extension agent Kim Davis, who has been in charge of 4-H Youth Development for the last two years.
With Barnes being responsible for Family and Consumer Sciences, and Community Economic Development, in addition to her executive and administrative duties, the local office offers the public a wide a array of services.
