Murray named Caregiver of the Year by Clay Co. Manor
CELINA-Certified nursing assistant Shirley Murray has been named facility Caregiver of the Year for 2009 by Clay County Manor.
Murray has worked at the nursing home for six years.
In addition, Clay County Manor has nominated Murray for district and statewide honors through the Tennessee Health Care Association’s (THCA) Caregiver of the Year program. Six district winners, one from each of THCA’s six geographical districts (Memphis, Jackson, Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville and East Tennessee), will be recognized during the association’s Annual Convention & Trade Show Aug. 16-19 at the Nashville Convention Center.
From the six district winners, the statewide Caregiver of the Year will be selected. The statewide Caregiver of the Year will be named and honored on Nursing Home Caregiver Appreciation Day, set for Friday, Nov. 20, in a ceremony at his facility.
Now in its 11th year, THCA’s Caregiver of the Year program provides member facilities the opportunity to say “You are the Magic!” to those who provide much-needed, round-the-clock support for nursing home patients across the Volunteer State. THCA received 88 nominations for 2009.
“We appreciate and value the hard work and dedication of our 2009 Caregiver of the Year,” said Paula Boone, Clay County Manor administrator. “Exceptional employees need to be celebrated. Their value cannot be overstated.”
