Museum commends all for help with ‘yet another great festival’

Event helps protect, preserve, and display Clay County history
CELINA-Officials with the Clay County Museum of History are again offering their appreciation to the community for helping make the 2025 Museum Festival a success earlier this month.
Museum director Beverly Hollifield said the annual event pushed the museum closer to reaching its annual fundraising goal, while providing an opportunity for the public to visit historical sites downtown and be entertained by various events centered around the courthouse square.
“We had yet another great festival,” she said. “Thank you to all of the volunteers who made everything possible and helped it go smoothly.
“We are especially grateful for our many donors, attendees, vendors, and everyone else who makes it possible for the museum to continue to protect, preserve, and display Clay County history.”
Hollifield explained “the cake walk was incredible,” and she said “the vendors were exceptional and had a wide variety of products.”
She also offered her thanks to the Quit’n Tyme Band for filling in for CrossFire, who had to cancel due to illness.
“Plus the cow patty contest was entertaining as always, along with the duck race, car show, and everything else,” Hollifield said. “We can’t thank everyone enough for their support.”
