Clay County’s star senior is only the second Bulldog ever to be considered for the award
NASHVILLE-Clay County’s sensational senior quarterback and defensive back Nate Adams has been named one of five semifinalists for the 2024 Tennessee Titans Class A Mr. Football award, as announced Thursday here by the TSSAA.

Adams is only the second-ever Bulldog to be considered for the designation, which honors the state’s best overall player in the classification.
His uncle Brian Burchett was a the only other Class A Mr. Football contender in program history. Burchett was named a finalist in 1990, but the award was won by Donelson Christian Academy’s Lorenza “Scooter” Edwards.
During the 2024 regular season, Adams has thrown for 2,492 yards and 34 touchdowns and has seven defensive interceptions, including three he returned for touchdowns.
He boasts an impressive total of 6,525 passing yards and 80 touchdowns in his career, a span where he also has picked off a total of 31 passes on defense.
Adams has led his Bulldog team to an 8-2 regular season and this year’s Region 4-A Championship. Clay County will begin their playoff run Friday night in Celina versus Sale Creek.
The field of five semifinalists for the Mr. Footbal award will be narrowed down to three finalists on November 26, before the winner is announced on December 10 here at Nissan Stadium.
