New downtown festival planned for late March

CELINA-The Clay County Chamber of Commerce announced last week a new annual festival will be held here downtown in late March.
The 1st Annual Chocolate Gravy Festival is set for Saturday, March 22 beginning at 9 a.m., and it will include live music, vendors, and more to go along with the featured chocolate gravy contest.
The announcement was made via social media, and posts about the new festival at Facebook.com/Clay.County.TN.Chamber had hundreds of shares and a multitude of comments in support of the idea as of HORIZON press time Monday.
Much like the ever-popular Chili Cook-off held here in the fall, attendees will be able to sample entries and participants of the cooking contest will have a chance to win first, second, and third-place prizes this spring. In addition, a people’s choice will also be chosen.
