Nora Maxine Roberts, 73

CELINA-Funeral Services for Nora Maxine Roberts were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Upton Funeral Home in Celina, TN. Burial followed at Turkey Town Cemetery in Hilham, TN. Visitation was held on March 9 from 3 – 7 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home in Nashville and on March 11 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Upton Funeral Home in Celina.

Nora Maxine Roberts, age 73, passed away March 7, 2011.

Ms. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Selma Roberts, and brother, Durell Roberts.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Fay Lewis; brother, Ralph Roberts; niece, Kim Roberts; nephew, David Lewis (Dawn); great nephew, Samuel Lewis, and great nieces Ruby and Tabitha Lewis. Ms. Roberts served for decades as Executive Assistant to Lt. Gov. John S. Wilder.

A life-long Democrat, she actively campaigned for party candidates throughout Tennessee, and served in various capacities on county, state, and national levels, and as a delegate to several state and national conventions.

She was honored for her service by the Davidson County Democratic Women, and the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County proclaimed October 16, 2003 as “Maxine Day” in her honor.
