OB / Women’s health practice comes to CRH
CELINA-Cumberland River Hospital (CRH) recently announced the opening of an
practice on February 1, 2012 staffed by Dr. Jim Nelson, Jr. MD who is partnering with CRH to bring this much needed service to the local and Clay County community.
The clinic will be open on Wednesdays from 1 until 5 p.m. with appointments available by calling 931-498-4880 or 931-498-4881.
Dr. Nelson has a private practice in Rickman, Tennessee where he has practiced Family Medicine/Obstetrics since 2002. He is well known and well respected among surgeons in the Upper Cumberland area.
Dr. Nelson holds a B. S. in Biology from Tennessee Technology University(1985), earned his medical degree at University of Santiago in the Dominican Republic and completed his Family Practice Residency with an OB track in 2002, where he became Board Eligible, at the AHEC South Arkansas El Dorado Campus/University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Prior to medical school, he worked as a surgery technician and first assistant at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and was also a Navy certified Hospital Corpsman and Surgical Technician/First Assistant while serving in the United States Navy from 1969-1977 earning the rank of E-5.
