Georgia K. Monroe, 83
CELINA-Georgia K. Monroe of the Pea Ridge Community passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
Ms. Monroe was born December 18, 1925 on Kettle Creek in Monroe County to the late Fred and Lee Ann Kidwell-Smith. She attended her freshman and sophomore years at Celina High School and her junior and senior years at Monroe County High School. After high school, Georgia spent the remainder of her life in Nashville, except for the last seven weeks where she lived with Alene Grey on Pea Ridge. She retired after 31 years of service at the Tennessee Department of Education in Nashville and later retired after 18 years of service at the Tennessee Education Association in Nashville. She was member of the Beech Bethany Church of Christ and was restored on November 9, 2008.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Steve and Diana Monroe; three grandchildren–Lizzie, Mattie, and John Monroe all of Celina; sister-in-law Jane Smith; and nephew Phil (Kim) Smith all of Monroe County.
Charles B. Clark, 81
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral services for Charles B. Clark of Red Boiling Springs were held here Friday, December 26, 2008.
Mr. Clark passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born May 28, 1927 in Macon County to the late Wesley and Pearl Pedigo Clark. On September 11, 1944, he married the former Geneva Allen, who survives. He was the owner and operator of the Lewis and Clark Carpet and Building Supply and the former Charles Clark Lumber Company in Red Boiling Springs. He was a member of the Bakerton Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Prentice Clark.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Charlene and Lewis White of Lafayette, Kathy Smith, Anita and Kenneth Hollis all of Red Boiling Springs; granddaughters Tina (Wayne) Wilson, Kim (Jeff) Roark, Deandrea Vinson, Hannah Hollis all of Red Boiling Springss, Amanda (Bobby) Likens of Murfreesboro; grandson Chase Smith of Red Boiling Springs; great-granddaughter Kayla Hall; great-grandsons A.J. (Ashley) Wilson, Jonathon Roark, Noah Likens, Maxie Wilson, and Nathanael Likens.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Phillip Anderson and Son Funeral Home with E.C. Meadows officiating. Burial was in the Whitley Cemetery. His family and friends served as pallbearers.

Clarence “Gabby” Greer, 82
CELINA-Funeral services for Clarence “Gabby” Greer of Celina were held here Tuesday, December 23, 2008.
Mr. Greer passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008 at the Overton County Nursing Home in Livingston.
He was born March 16, 1926 in Celina to the late Jimmy and Sally (Scott) Greer. He was a self employed small engine repairman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters–Olene Greer, Seretha Mott, and Meley Greer; and three brothers–Bert, Bill, and Johnny Greer.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law Donna E. Boles of Livingston, Barbara and Bill Stewart of Livingston, and Anita Greer of Crossville; brothers Tom Greer of Red Boiling Springs and Thomas Greer of Hilham; sisters Delma York of Red Boiling Springs and Marie Rich of Red Boiling Springs; half sisters Sadie Gore of Hilham and Katherine Greer of Gainesboro; grandchildren Tracy Harris, Travis Boles, Steven Boles, Sarah Boles, Barry Stewart, Andrew Banfield, and Scott Greer; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Mike White officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Boles, Barry Stewart, Jonathan Kerr, Dillon Harris, James Howard, and C.B. Boles.
Upton Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.
Mamie Rich, 60
CELINA-Funeral services for Mamie Rich of Celina were held here Sunday, December 21, 2008.
Ms. Rich passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs.
She was born July 23, 1948 in the Union Hill Community to the late John B. and Flora (Price) Jenkins. She worked at Crotty Manufacturing and was part of the Union Hill Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons Kale and Dale Likens; and brother Elmer (Blackie) Jenkins.
She is survived by granddaughter Paige Likens of Red Boiling Springs; three sisters–Thelma (Glen) Mitchell of Red Boiling Springs, Delma Crawford and (Turner Raines) of Celina, and Amy Crawford (twin sister) of Red Boiling Springs; three brothers–Delmer (Jeroline) Jenkins of Moss, Delmon Jenkins of Whitleyville, and Delmes (Louise) Jenkins of Celina; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Jonestown Cemetery.
