Sam B. Dillehay, 96
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral services for Sam B. Dillehay of Red Boiling Springs were held here Sunday, May 31, 2009.
Mr. Dillehay passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Macon County General Hospital.
He was born December 7, 1912 in Macon County to the late Edward and Bertie Collins Dillehay. On December 18, 1937, he married the former Dorothy Mabel Cook, who preceded him in death on November 7, 1991. On August 21, 1993, he married Vallie Nash Willson, who survives. He was a farmer and a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by son-in-law J.W. Hance; sisters Flora Verela, Mamie and Cassie Dillehay; and brothers Clarence, John, and Frank Dillehay.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Dorothy Hance of Layafette; sons Gerald (Kwan) Dillehay of Martinez (GA) and John (Sonny) Dillehay of Tinton Falls (NJ); step-daughters Linda Wilder of Red Boiling Springs, Carolyn Gregory, Paula (Tommy) Payne, and Phyllis Pitcock all of Lafayette; step-son Harold (Margie) Wilson of Tomkinsville; sister Susie (Russell) Coleman of Lebanon; brothers Connie Dillehay of the Hermitage Springs Community and James (Martha) Dillehay of Mt. Juliet; granddaughter Jennifer Dillehay of Tinton Fall (NJ); grandsons Gerald Dillehay, Jr. of Tampa (FL) and Greg Hance of Lafayette; 11 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Anderson and Son Funeral Home with J.E. Shoulders officiating. Burial was in the Whitley Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Harold Dillehay, Edward Dillehay, Kevin Wilder, Lucas Grace, Bryan Butler, and Ronald Cook.
Anderson and Son Funeral Home of Red Boiling Springs was in charge of arrangements.
Robert “Bob” Young Frizzell, 65
COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Young Frizzell, a Cookeville native, were held here Tuesday, June 2, 2009.
Mr. Frizzell passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his home in Moss.
He was born April 26, 1944 in his family home to the late Neely Frizzell and Etta Franklin Frizzell. He was a Cookeville business man for many years, retiring in 1994, the year he married Eva Webster, who survives. His interest in business continued with his holding several commercial and residential investments. He enjoyed his farm in Clay County, his family, and travel. Bob was a charter member of the Westview Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Judd McBroom Frizzell.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sister JoAnne (James) Herron; brother David Frizzell; stepsons Reyes Lee (Carla) Rich of Moss and George Webster (Michelle) Bercaw of McDonald (TN); four granchildren–Daysie Virginia, Caleb Webster, Grace Ann, and Elisha Lee Rich; mother-in-law Juanita Lee Webster Wooden; nephews Randy (Lori) Herron, Lance and Brady Herron; and niece Lani Herron.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Gary West officiated at the services, with full military honors at the graveside. Burial was in the Frizzell family plot, City Cemetery in Cookeville.
