Dorothy Lee Scott, 82
CELINA-Funeral Services for Dorothy Lee Scott of Celina were held here Wednesday, September 23, 2009.
Mrs. Scott passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
She was born December 7, 1926 in Celina to the late Charlie and Mallie (Cunningham) Massingille.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Willie (Bill) Aubrey Scott and three children.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Willie (Pat) Scott of Hartsville (SC) and Frankie (Tammy) Scott of Celina; daughters and sons-in-law Linda (Shirley) Scott of Celina, Cathy Boles of Celina, Connie (Roy) Johnson of Moss, and Rita (Lee) Garner of Burkesville; brothers Jim Massingille of Hartsville (TN) and Louis Massingille of Indianapolis (IN); sister Ada Tinsley of Celina; grandchildren Kim Head, Amanda Hale, Stacy Boles, Christy Davidson, Jason Scott, Ashley Kelly, Tonya Scott, Donna Jo Scott, and Dreama Garner; great-grandchildren Andrew Garrett, Zander Hale, Abigale Head, Alexis Head, Austin Davidson, Dalton Davidson, and Sidney Davidson; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Don Bryant officiating. Burial was in the Ray Williams Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were James Adams, Tuffy Adams, Ray Massingille, Ryan Johnson, David Tinsley and Joe Thomas Tinsley.

Nora Janie Smith, 52
CELINA-Funeral services for Nora Jane Smith of Celina were held here Wednesday, September 9, 2009.
Ms. Smith passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She was born August 1, 1957 in Louisville (KY) to the late James Flora and Kathy (McDonald) Anderson, who survives.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by daughter Charley Jane Abbott of Celina; son Charles “Chuckie” Smith III of Cookeville; grandchildren Kaylee Jane Abbott and Jonathan James Hunter Abbott; sisters Alice Carol Coppedge of Florida and Francis Wren of Louisville; brother Derrick Anderson of Louisville; niece Kristin (Josh) Strong; and great-nieces and nephews Dreama, Haylee, Veronica, and J.J.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Paul “Cricket” Strong officiating. Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery in Moss.
Hall Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.
L.C. Buttrey, Jr., 81
COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Leechy Cleveland (L.C.) Buttrey, Jr. of Cookeville were held here Wednesday, September 23, 2009.
Mr. Buttrey passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 7, 1928 in Fairview to the late Leechy Cleveland Sr. and Vera Harrison Buttrey. He was a life insurance salesman for more than 45 years. He preached the gospel for more than 64 years in the Church of Christ all across Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Harvey and Titus Buttrey.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Elizabeth Monroe Buttrey of Cookeville; sons and daughters-in-law James and Neva Buttrey and Robert Lynn and Debbie Buttrey all of Murfreesboro; daughter and son-in-law Linda and David Templeton of Sparta; four sisters–Annie Walker of Lewisburg, Thelma Nash of Fairview, Hazel Buttrey of Fairview, and Joyce Cathey of Bonaqua; six grandchildren–Sherry, Jonathon, Emily, Leslie Jr., Regina and Sherry; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home with Todd Buttrey officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro. Serving as pallbearers were her family and friends.
