Aaron Pennington, 70
CELINA-Funeral services for Aaron Pennington of Celina were held here Monday, September 28, 2009.
Mr. Pennington passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
He was born January 15, 1939 in Celina to the late Carlos and Bessie (Lynn) Pennington. He was a heavy equipment operator and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Joe Bob and Baylus Pennington; sister Bertha McBride; nephews Aaron Glenn Cunningham, Allen Pennington, Dennis Pennington, and Ray Dailey; and niece Angie Pennington.
He is survived by wife Veachel Irene Pennington of Celina; daughters and sons-in-law Darlene and John Coffindaffer of Charlottesville (VA), Daphine and Ackie Roach of Celina, and Marlene and Thomas Murphy of Ashville (NC); brother Joe Roberts of Pulaski (TN); sisters Evelyn Boles of Hilham, Frances Langford of Celina, Alpha “Black” Hall of Hilham, Altie “White” Southerland of Hilham, Helen Westmoreland of Celina, Eva Nell Turner of Cookeville, and Janie Suite of Indianapolis (IN); grandchildren Brandon Langford, Alex Roach, Grace Blackman, Jonathan, Silas, Michael, and Brianna Coffindaffer; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Paul Winchester officiating. Burial was in the McDonald Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Ackie Roach, John Coffindaffer, Thomas Murphy, Brandon Langford, Darrell Pennington and David Westmoreland. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Boles, James Reed Bailey and Alex Roach.
Upton Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.
Mosey Purcell, 98
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral services for Mosey Purcell of the Hermitage Springs Community were held here Thursday, October 1, 2009.
Mr. Purcell passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs.
He was born November 2, 1910 in Clay County to the late Jahue and Roxie Gulley Purcell. On December 25, 1929, he married Mamie Rush, who preceded him in death on August 4, 2003. He was a farmer and a member of the Milestown Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son Harold Eugene Purcell; grandson Richard Purcell; great-granddaughter Jennifer Purcell; sisters Pearly, Mattie, and Alice Mai Purcell; and brothers Rue, Carlos, Sandford, Willard and Jay Mack Purcell.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Creola and Kenneth Birdwell; son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Doris Purcell all of the Hermitage Springs Community; daughter-in-law Virginia Purcell of Greenwood (IN); seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Anderson and Son Funeral Home with Kirk Dodson officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. His family served as pallbearers.

Forrest Clifford Langford, 78
CELINA-Funeral services for Forrest Clifford Langford of Celina were held here Sunday, September 27, 2009.
Mr. Langford passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at his residence.
He was born December 7, 1930 in Celina to the late Robert Vivian and Ora C. (Randolph) Langford. He was a farmer and was a affiliated with the Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Elsie (McBride) Langford; granddaughter Patty McGuire; sisters Pauline Hawkins and Martha Rich Allen; and brothers Harold, Minor, and Grady Langford.
He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Jackie (Tina) Langford of Celina and Timmy Langford of Hilham; daughters Peggy Berniece McGuire of Antioch (TN), Jewell Ann Spivey of Mt. Juliet (TN), and Vivian Langford of Celina; brother Haskell Langford of Nashville and Cecil Langford of Celina; sisters Mary Agnes Spivey of Celina and Reba Boles of Hilham; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with friends and family officiating. Burial was in the Doc Hall Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Langford, Timmy Langford, Kelly Spivey, Rodney Langford, Brandon Langford, and Dwayne Scott. Honorary pallbearers were Allen Scott, Adam Scott, Evan Watson, and Jeffery Spivey.
