Pauline Fannie Proffitt, 90

CELINA-Funeral services for Pauline Fannie Proffitt of Celina were held here Monday, October 12, 2009.

Ms. Proffitt passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.

She was born December 16, 1918 in Clementsville (TN) to the late Benjamin and Effie (Woods) Halsell. She was a health caregiver and was affiliated with the Church of Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Marvin Proffitt; daughter Doris Elaine Proffitt; brothers Frank, James, Fletcher (Pat), Nemo, Buford and Elwyn Halsell; and sisters Mary Hullinger, Rachel Norris, Nadine Cropper and Beulah Jobe.

She is survived by son Marshall Dale Proffitt of Sullivan (IL); daughter Patricia Armstrong of Effingham (IL); brother Bob Halsell of Kenton (OH); grandchildren Jason Proffitt, Chad Armstrong, Christina Bergbower, and Stacy Best; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home. Burial was in the Gamaliel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jason Proffitt, Chad Armstrong, Mike Halsell, Billy Halsell, Jeff Halsell and Ryan McLerran.

Upton Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.

Donald F. Sickles, 86

CELINA-Donald F. Sickles passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at his residence in Celina.

Mr. Sickles was born September 14, 1923 in Columbus (OH) to the late Nettie L. and Charles L. (Streator) Sickles. He was a retired engineer and he was a 32nd degree Mason with the 221 Lodge in West Jefferson (OH).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Nora Kattie (White) Sickles.

He is survived by sister Ginny Munk of Columbus; niece Lois Munk of Ohio; nephew David Munk of Ohio; and friends Ray and June Cowburn of Celina.

Upton Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.
