Jerry Davis, 53
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral services for Jerry Davis of the Mt. Vernon community in Clay County were conducted here Wednesday, October 28, 2009.
Mr. Davis passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville after a brief illness.
He was born July 29, 1956 in Monroe County (KY) the son of Vella Franklin Davis of the Union Hill Community and the late Clyde Davis. On October 1, 1977, he married the former Sheila Long, who survives. He was a former maintenance tech of Dura Automotive in Gordonsville, and was an avid Beatles fan.
In addition to his wife of 32 years and mother, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Jeff Peterson of Red Boiling Springs; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Randy Keene of Lafayette; and granddaughters Caylie Gann, Chloe Gann and grandson, Cole Peterson–all of Red Boiling Springs.
Services were conducted from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home with Larry Harris and Melanie Bean Jennings officiating. Interment followed in the Leonard Cemetery.

James Paul Scott, 89
CELINA-Funeral services for James Paul Scott of the Pea Ridge community of Clay County were held here Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
Mr. Scott passed away away Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
He was born in Kentucky on February 5, 1920, the son of the late Charlie and Artha (Riley) Scott. He was a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers–Brance Scott, Woodrow Scott, Carmon Scott, and Sam Wells; and four sisters–Luna Stephens, Mattie Capps, Wilma Watson, and Lela Kerr.
He is survived by wife Elsie Scott of Celina; three sons–Cornell Scott of Celina, Timmie Scott of Moss, and Terry Scott of Cookeville; daughter Patricia Ann Hulsey of Celina; sister Lucy Sherrell of Celina; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Services were conducted from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery.

Charlene Stanley, 69
CELINA-Funeral services for Charlene Stanley of Celina were held here Friday, October 30, 2009.
Mrs. Stanley, formerly of Winfield (TN) passed away at her residence on October 28, 2009 after a long illness.
She was born December 21, 1939 in Clay County to the late Fred Cherry and Doris (Lawson) McLerran. She was a long-time member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by daughter Debi Cherry, great-granddaughter Chayla Braswell, great-grandson Jayden Bowles, brothers Dillard, Larry and David Cherry; and sister Jerlene Hawkins.
She is survived by daughters Marilyn (Johnie) Troxell of Strunk (KY) and Donna Kirk of Celina; seven sisters–Vida (Richard) Kendall, Emma (Mark) Heimbuch, Sue (Roger) Atchley–all of Indianapolis (IN)–and Sue Cherry, Carol (Rex) Short, Lisa (Johnny) White, and Sherlene Trobough–all of Celina; three grandchildren–Jonathan Braswell, Layla Braswell, and Jordan (Joshua) Bowles; four great-grandchildren–Angelique Braswell, Zeke Bowman, Kaileigh Bowman, and Damiyn Bowman; and special friend Robyn McBroom of Winfield.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home, with Paul Winchester officiating. Following cremation, her cremains were placed in the Cherry Cemetery in the Union Hill community.
