Mayme Dodson Crawford, 76
TOMPKINSVILLE (KY)-Funeral services for Mayme Dodson Crawford of Tompkinsville were held here Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Mrs. Crawford passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.
She was born in Monroe County (KY) on December 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Bedford and Willie Hazel (Crawford) Dodson. She was a member of the Berea Church if Christ, a retired homemaker and baby sitter, and the widow of Charles Randall Crawford.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Rex Crawford.
She is survived by one daughter Sue Tooley and husband John of Cave City (KY); one daughter-in-law–Sherry Crawford of Tompkinsville; two brothers–Carlie Dodson and Charlie Dodson of Tompkinsville; five sisters–Lovie Roach and her husband Stanley of Celina, Martha Anderson of Moss, Mary Dodson, Nell Dodson, and Jessie Dodson of Tompkinsville; three grandchildren–Nathan and Natalie Crawford, and Doug Tooley; two great grandchildren–Logan and Aubrey Tooley; special friend and sister-in-law–Edna Dodson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. John Osgatharp officiated. Burial was in the Monroe Co. Memorial Lawn.
Pallbearers for Mayme Crawford were Doug Tooley, Josh Hopkins, Ackie Roach, Mark Anderson, Stevie Anderson, Jason Bowman, and James Cloyd. Honorary pallbearers were Nathan Crawford, Ishmael Lane, Bobby Lane, Ronald Bailey, J.T. Cloyd, Dashiell Isenberg, Jimmy Proffitt, Morris Adams, Tommy Willett, James Terry Carter, Jeff Harrison, Doc Haliday, Dr. Michael Carter, Dr. Jerry N. Bean, and Steve Curtis.
Strode Funeral Home of Tompkinsville was in charge of arrangements.
