Mildred Short, 97
CELINA-Funeral services for Mildred Short of Moss were held here Saturday, February 7, 2009.
Mrs. Short passed away Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
She was born June 25, 1911 in Clay County to the late Winfield and Laura Bell (Strong) Mabry. She was a house wife and was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Estil Short; and children Evelyn Inez Short and Jack Ray Short.
She is survived by four daughters–Anna Joyce Edwards, Virginia Runell Brown, Hazel Ruth Bray, and Lou Dean West; three sons–James Willas Short, Ezra Wallace Short, and Charles Leeman Short; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Gary Wilder officiating. Burial was in the Pitcock Cemetery.

Jo Puckett Bradford, 81
SMITHVILLE-Funeral services for Jo Puckett Bradford of Smithville were held here Friday, February 6, 2009.
Mrs. Bradford passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at her residence.
She was a member of Buckners Chapel UMC and attended Trinity Assembly in Algood. She was a grocery store worker and also worked in a shirt factory.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elbridge Kiah and Bonnie Elizabeth Tittsworth Puckett; son Alan Bradford; and brothers Wilburn and Ernest Puckett.
She is survived by husband of 58 years Ralph Bradford of Smithville; children Greg (Gina) Bradford of Smithville and Terry (Hugh) Davenport of Celina; daughter-in-law Suzanne Bradford of Smithville; grandchildren Brad Davenport, Jennifer Langford, Matt Davenport, Mandy Bradford, Chase Bradford, Cory Bradford, Alli Bradford, Adam Lindsey, and Matthew Lindsey; great-grandchildren Isaiah, Nolan, Anaiah, and Emmy; and sisters Alice Foster and Christine Prichard both of Smithville.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Dekalb Funeral Chapel with Jim Moore officiating. Burial was in the Puckett Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Brad Davenport, Matt Davenport, Chase Bradford, Cory Bradford, Rodney Langford, Adam Lindsey, and Matthew Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Hawkins, Rick Hawkins, Tony Hawkins, Tim Puckett, Brent Foster, Mike Foster, Rick Foster, Eddie Puckett, Randy Prichard, and Dwain Rowe.

Edith Ray Phillips, 90
CELINA-Funeral services for Edith Ray Phillips of Celina were held here Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
Mrs. Phillips passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
She was born November 11, 1918 in Celina to the late James Stone and Fannie May (Langford) Waddell. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Butlers Landing Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband W.E. Phillips; and sisters Ruth Waddell and Wilma Birdwell.
She is survived by sister Ruby Loftis of Gallatin; niece Jean Keys of Gallatin; and nephew Richard Birdwell of Humbolt (TN).
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Bill Threet officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Cecil Langford, James Clements, Gary Landford, Robert Abney, Cecil Langford, and Brandon Day.

Timmy Lee Dillon, 43
CELINA-Funeral services for Timmy Lee Dillon of Turkeytown were held here Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
Mr. Dillon passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born January 19, 1966 in Gainesboro to Timmy Jube and Viola Tidwell Dillon. He was a truck driver for Central Transport and was affiliated with the First Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Martha and Bee Dillon; and great-grandparents John B. and Anna Boles.
He is survived by mother and step-father Viola and Gary Allen of Turkeytown; father Jube Dillon of Nashville; daughters Kelli Jane and Ryann Beth Dillon of Livingston; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Doss Ervin of Smyrna; niece Mikaela Frizzell of Smyrna; five uncles–Jeff Tidwell, Winton, Clark, John, and JR. Dillon; and three aunts–Sammie Chitwood, Nell Key, and Lucy Hammock.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Craig Green and Gene Chitwood officiating. Burial was in the Turkeytown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Tony Maxfield, Kelly Kirk, Jacky Watkins, Adam Hammock, Kevin Tompkins, and Kevin Duncan.

Helen Masters Shearer, 89
NASHVILLE-Funeral services for Helen Masters Shearer of Lenoir City were held here Saturday, February 14, 2009.
Mrs. Shearer passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Madison (TN).
She attended Tennessee Tech and was a former teacher. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was the last of 10 children.
She was preceded in death by husband Daniel T. Shearer.
She is survived by children Margaret (Gary) Ricciardi of Knoxville, Thomas Patrick Shearer of Athens (GA), and Christopher Sean (Lisa) Shearer of Hermitage; grandchildren Tracy (Roger) Welch, Seth Shearer, Ashley Shearer, Sydney Shearer, and Caitlin Shearer; great-grandchildren William and Elizabeth Welch and Tre Shearer; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with David Boettner officiating. Burial was in the Lakeview Cemetery.
