Pierce speaks at Legion Auxiliary meeting
Katelyn Pierce attended the most recent Volunteer Girls State (VGS) held at Lipscomb University in Nashville. Her participation in the event was sponsored by The Celina American Legion Unit 18. The program is centered on citizenship, teamwork and fostering a love of God and country.
Pierce spoke about her experience at the October meeting of the Legion’s Auxiliary saying she believed it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and built some everlasting friendships.
Pierce expressed that the skills she developed in leadership, citizenship, teamwork will be truly utilized as she is planning a career in the military and intends to join the United States Marines. She said the week was one of the busiest of her life so far.
