Clay County Emergency Food and Shelter State Set-Aside Funding Phase 41
Clay County has received State Set-Aside Funding of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program for the Phase 41
Eligible Applicant Organizations
- Non-profit, faith based and governmental organizations that provide food, shelter and supportive services with the intent of the program e Past EFSP participant is not a requirement
- Must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)
- Must have a Federal Employer Identification Number
- Maintain an account in the organizations name for EFSP deposits
- Practice non-discrimination
- Pay vendors directly with in a 90-day period of services e Submit all
required reports
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program began in 1983 by Congress to
help meet the needs of hungry and homeless people throughout the US and its territories by allocating federal funds for the provision of food and shelter. The program is governed by the National Board composed of Representatives of the American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; The Jewish Federations of North America; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; The Salvation Army; and The United Way Worldwide.
The Board is chaired by a Representative of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Congress has appropriated ($130,000,000) for Phase 41 to supplement and expand Emergency Food and Shelter Programs.
EFSP has reserved a portion of these funds for State Set-Aside funding to jurisdictions.
Qualifying agencies are encouraged to apply.
