Punisher hosting unique double tourney Saturday night
CELINA-Punisher Lures is hosting a unique bass tournament here Saturday night, June 4 at Pleasant Grove boat ramp where anglers will have the chance to fish for smallmouth, largemouth, or both species of bass.
“We are going to have two tournaments in one,” Punisher Lures owner Stephen Headrick said. “Guys can fish for smallmouth only, largemouth only, or both, because we are going to have two individual pay-outs.”
Headrick has named the event the Punisher Night Bite Classic and he said the entry fee for the two-fish-limit smallmouth tournament would be $50, while the fees for the five-fish-limit largemouth event would be $110–making the total for both events $160.
“They can bring in a total of seven fish if they pay $160,” he said. “Two smallmouth will go towards the smallmouth tournament and five largemouth will count in the largemouth tournament.
“This should give everybody a chance to win a little money and enjoy a night of fishing.”
He said the event would blast off at 7 p.m., but that participants had to be signed up by 6:45 p.m. in order to compete. The weigh-in is set for 1 a.m. that night.
A big-fish pay-out will also be given in both tournaments as well as door prizes and trophies for first, second, and third place. There will also be a 12-inch minimum on all fish.
