Anti-drug coalition leads a local Red Sand Project
Event held to raise awareness for human trafficking
CELINA-Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition (CCADC) members, staff, and youth coalition members recently participated in the Red Sand Project here at Donaldson Park, where they decorated sidewalks at the venue to raise awareness about human trafficking.
The Red Sand Project is a participatory artwork created by Molly Gochman which uses sidewalk interventions and earthwork installations to create opportunities for people to question, connect, and take action against vulnerabilities that can lead to human trafficking, modern slavery, and exploitation.
“If you are at Donaldson Park Recreation Area be sure to take a look and find the red sand within the cracks of the sidewalk,” CCADC officials said. “Take action to end human trafficking and modern slavery today and be aware of it.”
The National Human Trafficking Hotline is a national, toll-free hotline, available to answer calls, texts, and live chats from anywhere in the United States, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in more than 200 languages. Call 1-888-373-7888 or text BeFree (233733).
