Rush Rich announces for Celina mayor
CELINA-Rush Rich announced last week he would be a candidate for Celina mayor in the upcoming city elections in June.
Rich, 58, is a Celina native who resides on Yale Avenue in Swann subdivision. He is the son of the late Leamon and Nora Pennington Rich, and has been married to the former Ann Watson for 40 years. Ann retired in 2004 from the Clay County school system after teaching 33 years.
The couple has a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Amy Rich of Cookeville, and two grandchildren–Claire and Cole.
“Some of my work experience includes working in a factory as a laborer and supervisor, owning my own business, and also being employed with the State of Tennessee as a sales representative,” Rich said in his announcement.
“Part of my job as an employee of the state was to work closely with state legislators, which gives me an insight to the availability of state funds,” he said.
“If I am elected mayor, I will devote my efforts full-time to improving our city,” Rich said. “If you have any questions or concerns, or would just like to talk with me, I can be reached at home at 243-2735. I ask for your support and hope to see all Celina residents within the next few months.”
