Clay County School board to see three new members
CELINA-Three new members will be sworn into office on the Clay County school board in September following results from last Thursday’s election.
Six seats were up for grabs in three districts, and an incumbent in each district retained their seat–while all three will also see a new board member.
District 2 saw newcomer Veda Hix become the top vote-getter and she will join incumbent Russell Cherry as the district’s representatives.
Incumbent David West retained his seat in District 3, while Todd Lynn will be the new face in the same district, knocking off Bill Donaldson who was seeking re-election.
District 5 saw the same outcome with incumbent Jerry Eads keeping his seat and newcomer Nathan Sherrell getting the most votes to fill the seat, leaving incumbent Liz Boles off the board. Doug Strong came in a close third just ahead of Boles.
