BYRDSTOWN-The smallmouth-only night tournament series held here on the upper Dale Hollow Lake will continue this Saturday night, July 7, 2018 at Star Point Resort, after taking a weekend off for the Independence holiday.
The events have been averaging over 20 boats per night and have seen a bronzeback over 21-inches long carried to the scales at every competition so far this season.
Father-and-son team Robbie and Jonah Johnson won the last event fished with a pair of smallmouth totaling over five pounds. Their catch included a big fish tipping the scales at over four pounds.
The tournaments are fished from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., feature a $40 entry fee, and a big fish of the year pot. For more information, contact Randy Roysden at 931-879-0555.
