Spring broadcasts to start next week
CELINA-The Horizon Sports Network will kick off their second season of broadcasting Clay County High School spring sports next week.
The live-stream affiliate of the HORIZON newspaper will begin coverage with a jam-packed week of action, as they start with Lady Bulldog softball hosting district-rival Gordonsville on Tuesday, April 8 and continue with two more games next week.
Following the clash between the Lady Dawgs and the Tigerettes, a broadcast of Bulldog baseball versus Trousdale County will come on Thursday, April 10 and another softball matchup featuring Clay County and Macon County will be covered the day after on Friday, April 11.
The Horizon Sports Network will then continue broadcasts throughout the remainder of the month, with schedules to be announced each week.

Teams back to
action this week
After taking a week off, the Lady Dawgs were set to return to action this week with a 5-4 record, after beating Monterey, Cookeville, Red Boiling Springs, and Upperman twice prior to spring break.
The majority of their losses have come in close games, including a 5-6 defeat at the hands of White County and a 6-8 loss to Trousdale County. The Clay County girls have also been beaten by Macon County and Gordonsville.
The Dawgs were 3-5 heading into the week, after winning their last two contests.
They dropped their first four games, before initially getting in the win column with a 6-0 shutout of Red Boiling Springs.
They then fell to the other Bulldog team once and Macon County twice, which they followed up with a double-header sweep of Bledsoe County.
The Clay County boys were scheduled to host Clarkrange for a doubleheader Tuesday and play in a tournament at Jackson County at week’s end, where they will face White County and Cumberland County Thursday and Livingston Academy on Friday.
Like the Dawgs, the Clay County girls were set to have a busy week of their own.
The Lady Dawgs were scheduled to host Livingston Academy Monday and Pickett County Tuesday, before traveling to RBS Thursday and returning home to face Monterey on Friday.
