Baxter masters AP, Kaslikowski wins Tri-County writing contest
CELINA-Clay County High School students continue to impress academically here as a whole and individually, as evidenced by their recent special scholastic accomplishments.
Not one, but two CCHS students have achieved perfect scores of 36 on the ACT in a span of two years, and the school’s average on the test has increased annually over the same time period.
Both graduating senior Camden Baxter and rising junior Witt Kaslikowski—who make up the perfect-score duo, have also paced a group of local students who have successfully completed potential college-credit-earning Advanced Placement courses.
Baxter is garnering attention for his outstanding AP achievements, after mastering six challenging courses and earning college credit by passing AP tests in Computer Science, Physics, Calculus, Precalculus, Microeconomics, and Art History.
“Camden’s dedication and academic excellence set him apart as a standout student,” school officials said. “His ability to excel in such a wide range of subjects demonstrates his academic versatility and intellectual curiosity.
“Camden’s accomplishments in completing six AP courses and earning college credit for each one not only show his academic capability, but also inspire his peers to push the boundaries of their own potential.”
Kaslikowski followed Baxter’s lead, not only in regards to matching the upperclassman’s perfect ACT score, but also when it came to other goals.
Along with graduating senior Mason Bridges, rising sophomores Dalton Davidson and Nizhoni Kaslikowski—who all completed AP Psychology this year, Witt Kaslikowski passed AP Physics, but that’s not all he did.
He was also recently recognized as his school’s first-place winner in the Tri-County Electric Writing Contest.
“Like Camden, Witt serve’s as a clear example of how hard work, determination, and a thirst for knowledge can lead to remarkable achievements,” officials said. “They, along with all the students completing AP courses, certainly have bright futures ahead of them.”
About TDOE’s
AP Program
The College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Program provides an opportunity for high school students to experience postsecondary-level coursework across multiple subjects.
Each course is aligned to a subject-specific AP exam, which provides students the potential to earn credit for postsecondary (college) coursework in that subject.
Since 2021, TDOE has partnered with the Niswonger Foundation to increase students’ access to virtual AP courses through the AP Access for All (APAA) program. This program enables students to take rigorous AP courses at no cost to them.

About the Tri-Co.
Writing Contest
Each year Tri-County Electric partners with statewide organizations in Tennessee and Kentucky to sponsor the Electric Cooperative Writing Contest. Winners also qualify for thousands of dollars in scholarships.
High school juniors are asked to submit a short story not exceeding 900 words of a specific title each year. This year’s story title was Electric Cooperatives Connect.
The short stories are judged on appropriate treatment of theme and knowledge of subject, originality and creativity, and grammar and composition.
Tri-County Electric had winners from five area high schools. All five of the first-place winners received $100 and the two second-place winners received $50.
Four students from Tri-County’s service area received the Washington, D.C. Youth Tour trip, and they include overall winner Haley Willis of Red Boiling Springs, Abrie Polly of Trousdale County, Callie Decker of Metcalfe County, KY, and Emily Warren of Monroe County, KY.
They will be accompanied to the Nation’s Capital by Lindsay Wilkinson, Marketing Assistant, and Tammy Marlow, Red Boiling Springs English Teacher.
