Sula Alyne Smith, 89

CELINA-Funeral Services for Mrs. Sula Alyne Smith, a resident of Mabry Health and Rehab in Gainesboro, formerly of Celina, were held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Upton Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Donaldson Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Eric Smith, Steve Mower, Jeffrey Whiteside, Rodney Whiteside, Nathan Smith and Jason Smith.
Mrs. Sula Smith, age 89, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Mabry Health and Rehab in Gainesboro.
Sula Alyne Poindexter was born March 12, 1922 in the Pea Ridge Community of Clay County, Tennessee to the late Ray and Maude Leah (Thompson) Poindexter. Sula married Jimmie Albert Smith April 6, 1940 in Clay County. He preceded her in death August 3, 1994.
She was s homemaker and was a member of the Neely Crossroads Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sons, James, Carl, Wayne and Keith Smith; Brothers, Clayton, Raymond, Eddie and Fred Poindexter.

Sula is survived by her Daughters, Anna Joyce Mower of Middleton, Ohio, Janet Whiteside of Killen, Alabama and Beverly Carol Ford of Indianapolis, Indiana; Brothers, Gary Poindexter of Indianapolis, Indiana and Glyn Poindexter of Celina, Tennessee; Sisters, Mildred Abney of the Baptist Ridge Community of Clay County; 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
