DALE HOLLOW-The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Dale Hollow Lake has given public notice that the suspension bridge at Pleasant Grove Recreation Area in Clay County is open and available for use.  

An inspection in April of this year revealed structural problems that posed potential safety risk and deemed it unsafe for public access, resulting in the bridge being closed and barricaded. 

The bridge received final clearance from an engineer evaluation this past week, Corps officials said. This suspension bridge, known locally as the “swinging bridge,” is an extremely popular area and is a highly-visited feature in the local area.
