SWORN IN-Clay County Trustee Angie Thompson (above) and Clay County Assessor of Property Angie Eads (below) were both officially sworn in by judge Jimmy White last week.  Thompson succeeds the late Charlie Key, while Eads succeeds the late Billy “Teakettle” Smith.  After working for their predecessors for many years, both Thompson and Eads were appointed to fill their respective positions.  Eads won a special election in 2022 to retain the assessor seat and ran unopposed in August.  Thompson also beat James “Tater” Johnson for the trustee seat last month.
