Two-night tourney set for August 5-6 at DH Marina
CELINA-Friday night tournament director Luke Sherrell announced Monday he will host a two-night tournament the weekend of August 5-6 here at Dale Hollow Marina and he said he was excited about the event.
“There haven’t been many two-nighters held on this lake and we are looking forward to it,” he said. “We’ve talked about it for awhile and now we’re going to give it a shot.
“We hope everybody will come out and make it a good one.”
Sherrell said the event will blast off at 8 p.m. and end at 1 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights with the winners being determined by their combined total weight from both weigh-ins.
He also explained there would be a big-fish award given out each night.
The purse will be made up of an $100-per-boat entry fee and an additional $20 will be used to pay out the big fish awards.
“The total entry fee is $120 per boat and $10 will go towards the big fish pot each night with the rest going to the top finishers,” Sherrell said.
The tournament will feature a four-fish limit each night with any species of bass (KY spot, Largemouth, or smallmouth) being eligible to weigh in, creating a possible eight-fish total for the two-night event.
