Thursday, June 2nd
- 1:30 p.m. Snakes Alive: Meet at the Park Amphitheater shelter to learn about reptiles of the area. Learn why snakes are more than meets the eye. All ages welcome to share this scaly experience! ½ hr.
3:00 p.m. Park History Hike: Have you ever wondered how Standing Stone came to be a state park? Meet John at the park office for a short easy hike around sections of the park and informative talk about the history of Standing Stone State Park. 1hr.
5:00 p.m. Rec Hall Fun: Meet at the Park Recreation Hall for an evening of fun games such as ping pong, corn hole, volley ball, and shuffleboard. 1hr.
7:30 p.m. Night Sounds Hike: Meet John at the Recreation center for a hike to the Standing Stone footbridge. Along the way, see what critters you can identify from the sounds they make at night! Don’t forget your flashlight! 1-1.5 hr.
Friday, June 3rd
- 1:00 p.m. Scavenger Hunt: Everyone come out for a good old scavenger hunt. Meet John at the Park Office for an evening of fun. 1 hr.
2:30 p.m. Moses Fisk Hike: Meet down below the dam for a guided hike through the woods to the old Moses Fisk replica house. Learn who Moses Fisk was, and how he helped shape the south! 1-1.5 hr.
5:30 p.m. New!!! The SSSP Butterfly Garden Project: Come see what ‘s exciting and new to Standing Stone State Park. Join John Willeford to learn more about the new Butterfly Fly Garden project that is just now underway. Meet at Park Recreational Hall. ½ hr.
8:00 p.m. Campfire: Come out to our open campfire at the Park Amphitheater to roast marshmallows, and hear some great campfire stories. Guitars and other instruments are welcome for sing-a-longs, and be sure to bring a marshmallow roasting’ stick! All ages welcome! 1hr.
Saturday, June 4th
- 7:30 a.m. Plant Hike: Meet at the park office to hike down a section of the Standing Stone Lake Trail. Learn about the plants of the park, and see how many we can identify! 1hr.
9:30 a.m. Ringer Marbles Tournament: Standing Stone State Park will be hosting the 2011 Tennessee State Marbles Championships. Championship matches will be held at Ringer Courts 1 and 2 (beside Shelter #1 and #2). To be eligible to compete: you must be of age 7-17 on June 4th, 2011. Sign-ups are between 9 – 9:30 a.m. at Shelter #2.
11:00 am Rolley Hole Marbles Tournament: Come on out to the Rolley Hole Marble Yard, beside the Recreational Hall, to learn a little about Standing Stone’s most famous pastime! The Tennessee Kucklers will be hosting the 3nd Annual Tennessee State Rolley Hole Championship at Standing Stone State Park. Rolley Hole Games/signups begin at 11 am. Rolley Hole Tournament is open to anyone that wishes to play.
2:30 p.m. Creek Walk: Come down to the creek below the dam, to cool off, and learn about the creek and all its critters. Be sure to wear your creek shoes, you may get wet! All ages welcome! 1hr.
Sunday, June 5th
- 8:00 a.m. Non-Denominational Worship Service: Morning worship service sponsored by Allons Baptist Church. Meet at the Park Amphitheater. If raining, meet in the Recreation Hall. 1hr.
