Wandie F. Cherry Waterman
Wandie F. Cherry Waterman, age 65, of New Palestine, IN and formerly of the Mt. Vernon Community in Clay County, TN, passed away at home with her family at her side on Friday, November 26, 2010 in New Palestine.
Funeral Services for Wandie F. Cherry Waterman were conducted Monday morning, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, Indiana with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating. Interment followed in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Wandie was born June 9, 1945 in the Hermitage Springs Community in Clay County, TN, the daughter of the late Bransford L. and Brillia Rush Cherry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Eddie Allen Waterman, and an infant brother. Wandie graduated from Hermitage Springs High School and later married Robert W. Waterman on May 26, 1967 at the Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, IN, who survives. She was a homemaker and had also previously worked at Shoney’s and at Western Electric. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Red Hat Ladies, Zion Circle, Tuesday Bible study, LWML and Thrivent for Lutherans. She loved fishing, cooking, angels, camping, poker and playing cards.
Survivors include: husband, Robert Waterman, Sr., New Palestine, children, Rob (Jennie) Waterman, Jr., and Melissa (Steve) Waterman all of New Palestine, brothers & sisters, Mack (Wanda) Cherry, Indianapolis, Lourenia (Donald Lee) Davis, Lennis (Jean) Cherry, and Garnett (Ruth) Cherry all of the Leonard Community, Royce Cherry, Mt. Vernon Community, Joyce (Don) Staffey, Red Boiling Springs, Lois (Ronnie) Hudson, Lafayette, grandchildren, Lacie Waterman, Mara Waterman, Becca Waterman, Austin Waterman-Gadis, and Aleah Waterman-Gadis, all of New Palestine, many nieces and nephews, aunts, Louvenia Davis and Genive Campbell, and an uncle, Willard Cherry.
