Adams to play at next level

Bulldog all-time leading tackler signs with University of the Cumberlands
CELINA-Bulldog football’s all-time leading tackler Reece Adams signed to play at the next level here last week, as he inked is letter of intent to become a University of the Cumberlands Patriot with his family, coaches, teammates, and many others in attendance.
Adams not only holds the career tackle record (322), but also broke the program’s single-season mark as a junior, when he was named the Region 4-A Defensive MVP.
He also rushed for a total of 1,446 yards (20TDs) in his final campaign as a Bulldog and was named the Region 4-A Offensive MVP, All-Midstate 1st Team, TNFCA All-State, and TSWA All-State.
Both Clay County High School Assistant Principal Daniel Strong and Bulldog head coach Bruce Lamb not only spoke of Adams’ accomplishments at signing ceremony, but also his character and dedication.
Strong read a letter of recommendation he wrote in support of Adams, which outlined his excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in life, while Lamb described him as “a coach’s dream.”
“I am so proud of him for what he’s done,” Lamb said. “Today he gets to realize his dream and sign a national letter of intent to play college football at the University of the Cumberlands.
“And they don’t know what they got. He’s a steal and I can’t tell you what a great young man he is!”
The University of the Cumberlands is located a little over two hours from Celina in Williamsburg, KY and the Patriots play in the NAIA’s Mid-South Conference with the likes of Lindsey Wilson, Campbellsville, Cumberland, Bethel, and others.
