Library temporarily closing

Facility will remain closed through June for construction
CELINA-The Clay County Public Library will be temporarily closing next week to allow contractors to continue a building expansion project which began late last year.
“We would like to inform our patrons that the library will be closing to the public on April 3 as we complete the expansion of our building,” library officials announced on Facebook last week. “The library will remain closed through June while we finish this exciting project.”
The expansion and renovation comes courtesy of a $1.7 million Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Connected Community Facilities grant, which will allow for 3,000 square feet of space to be added to the library.
Plans are in the works for pop-up library events during the temporary closure.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we cannot wait to welcome you all back into our newly expanded library!” library officials said.
Besides the expansion, renovations to the current building will also be completed, including new ceilings, flooring, windows, and more.
When construction began, library officials said the project was expected to be fully completed by August 31, 2026.
